As Cyprus looks to the light at the end of a long COVID tunnel, its Peace Generation is eyeing up the chance to reset the political clock. 47 years ago, the island was partitioned and communities, who for centuries had co-habited peacefully, have since been forced to live apart. Now, a new Cypriot youth initiative, Hade, says enough is enough, as it amasses Cypriots from all communities to revolutionise an approach to peace talks that has borne no fruit for Cypriot citizens. Politika News sat down with two representatives of the movement to talk ethnonationalism, saying goodbye to divisive constructs, and pale, male, stale leaders.
